Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world. Standing at a staggering height of 828 meters (2,717 feet), it is a marvel of modern engineering and architecture. The construction of Burj Khalifa began in 2004 and was completed in 2010, officially opening to the public in January of that year. Designed by the architecture firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the building's sleek, futuristic design is inspired by Islamic architecture and features a Y-shaped floor plan that tapers as it rises, culminating in a spire at its peak. Burj Khalifa is a mixed-use development, housing a combination of residential, commercial, and hotel spaces. It contains luxurious apartments, corporate suites, the Armani Hotel Dubai, and office spaces.
